Finally, Nintendo does something that makes me more inclined to throw money at a Wii U. (Besides the promise of a new Super Smash game, of course.) Introducing the Nintendo amiibo figures: customize and build your character’s skills through battles with humans, CPUs, and other amiibos! It seems that Nintendo is actually going fairly in-depth with the customization of these characters, and they are promising formidable amiibo characters that will be able to beat human opponents if trained correctly.
You could listen to me rant on, or you could get it straight from the horse’s mouth: watch the video that Nintendo played at this year’s E3 event to get the full scoop. Which is what I do when I get ice cream and want to get my money’s worth: I order one very large scoop, which gives me the same amount of ice cream as two scoops with half the cost.
Note: I apologize on Nintendo’s behalf for the face-palmingly-bad intro, and thank them for making up for it with what seems like a solid product pitch!
Unfortunately, we have to wait a bit longer for all this good stuff – but we’ll get there, friends, we’ll get there. Also note: no friend of mine will ever own a Wii-Fit Trainer figure.
