Sifteo Cubes

geeky games

The Sifteo Cubes are one of the geeky games presented here that isn’t a board game, so savor it, you tech-freaks.  These three tiny touch screen blocks interact with each other, and are connected to a network that allows you to download tons of different interactive games that can be either educational or fun, or both.  ”That’s not possible!”  Reading Rainbow did it, Sifteo can do it again.

Colorku

geeky games

Colorku is a geeky game reminiscent of the extremely frustrating Sudoku that we have all done before.  But, instead of using numbers, this product forces you to do the puzzles with colors. It’s an incredibly difficult game that will impress your geeky friends, and is available for just $35.

Kabaleo

geeky game

Kabaleo, to me, seems like an awesome game that brings bluffing skills to more than just boring old cards.  In this geeky game, you need to stack your color on top of other people’s colors, and whoever has the most stacks with their color on top at the end wins the game!  This may seem incredibly boring right now, but there’s a major catch – nobody knows what color the other people want to put on top.  So, bluffing is the key to this game, as is being discreet – Kabaleo is just $30.

Fallout Monopoly

geeky games

This Monopoly / Fallout mashup was created by a fan of the game, and is complete with Fallout – themed properties and money.  Otherwise, the game is exactly the same, but it’s a great theme for a Monopoly game, for sure.

Dragon Face

geeky game

Dragon Face is a geeky game that throws you into the future, in which two sides attempt to take over the other.  You need to capture your opponent’s emperor by taking down and converting ambassadors and governors to your side of the team.  The game draws upon elements of strategy games such as Checkers and Chess, and is sure to provide a moderate challenge and a fun game night!  Dragon Face is $30.

Kanoodle

geeky games

Kanoodle is not a game for the faint of mind – it will twist your brain like a contortionist!  There are both 2D and 3D elements involved in this crazy puzzle game, and it can get extremely difficult!  If you dare, Kanoodle is $13.

Eni Puzzle

geeky puzzle

The Eni Puzzle is an incredibly difficult puzzle that, in a way, resembles a Rubik’s Cube.  There are eight different layers, and eight different colors.  Your objective is to scramble them all up, and then get it back to the way it started, shown above in the photo.  The layers twist, and the buttons can move around; this is sure to be an immense challenge for any geek!  This geeky puzzle is $13.

36 Cube

geeky puzzle

36 Cube is THE WORLD’S MOST CHALLENGING PUZZLE.  Plenty of people have said it, and I agree with the judgement that they have passed.  It is likened to 3D Sudoku – it sounds easy, but it is NOT.  The object is to put all of the 36 pieces down onto the board while still forming a level cube in the end.  You won’t be able to do it, so don’t even try.  If you’re a super genius geek, then go buy this for $25 and make us all feel stupid, and then allow us to bask in your light.

Pengoloo

geeky game

Pengoloo is a geeky game that gives our brains a short respite – it is a simpler game that also helps you to work your basic memory skills.  Just roll the die, and then try to find matching color eggs under the penguins!  It is extremely easy compared to the rest of the games shown here, and is ideal for the mini geeks that you gave birth to.  Pengoloo is $30, and actually fun, unlike some of the other geeky puzzles in this list.

V-Cube 2

geeky puzzles

The V-Cube 2 is another pretty easy geeky puzzle, very much NOT like it’s cousins the V-Cube 5 and the V-Cube 7.  If you’re looking for a simpler, bite-sized challenge, then the V-Cube 2 is for you.  It’s also less expensive, at a very affordable $15.

Wobble

geeky games

Wobble is an extremely interactive game that is meant to teach better hand-eye coordination.  The board “wobbles”, and tilts on every side.  The point of the game is to get the main ball into your color hole by adding weighted disks on your side of the board.  This is sure to be a great geeky game for game night, and it only costs $25!

Hot Spot

geeky game

The goal of Hot Spot, a simple geeky game, is to get the Red Blot to the Red Spot.  It’s as simple as that, except you only have a certain number of moves to do it, and you can only move certain colors in certain ways.  Hot Spot is $20.

Serpentiles

geeky puzzle

Serpentiles is a geeky puzzle that provides a good challenge for any thinker!  Different tiles show different parts, and cards tell you which tiles you can use on a certain level.  Your objective is to make a continuous path like the one shown above with only the tiles provided to you.  It’s simple at the lower levels, but as you progress… things can get a bit hairy!  Serpentiles is available for $15.

Perplexus Epic

geeky puzzles

The Perplexus Epic is an incredibly geeky puzzle that challenges your physical ability.  You need to maneuver a tiny metal ball through this three dimensional maze, which is stuffed with 125 obstacles!  Good luck!  The Perplexus Epic is $30.

Ball Of Whacks

geeky puzzles

The Ball of Whacks is a more free-form puzzle that lets your mind wander, in a good way.  This product is packed with 30 magnetic pyramids which can be arranged in endless shapes to build an infinite amount of structures!  A booklet with instructions is provided, and the ball itself is $35.

Da Vinci’s Catapult

geeky puzzle

We’ve all wished that we were as cool as Da Vinci at some point in our lives, and now you can be!  The Da Vinci’s Catapult geeky puzzle lets you build your own catapult, modeled after the one that the great artist and innovator designed himself!  The kit is just $25.

Futurama Monopoly

geeky games

The Futurama Monopoly game is a combination of two of my favorite things: Monopoly and Futurama.  You have Futurama properties, Futurama Money, and Futurama pieces, all with the fun of Monopoly!

Lutso

geeky game

In Lutso, each player takes turns putting marbles onto the board, which is initially not covered by any of the “playing pieces.”  Then, once you see a pattern in the marbles that matches one of your “playing pieces”, on your turn, you can cover it up.  And remember: the other player always gets to see which playing pieces you have left, so don’t be hiding them.  Lutso is $25.

Jishaku

geeky games

Jishaku, which means “magnet” in Japanese, is a wonderful game that you can play with others or by yourself!  Players take turns putting down stones, which are magnetic, and like all magnets, have a north and a sout pole.  If you put down a magnet on the uneven surface, and magnets jump together, you are forced to keep those magnets and add them to your stash.  The point of the game is to get rid of all of your magnets before the other player – and, surprisingly, this is very difficult.  Hint: as you are putting a stone down, feel which way the magnet is pulling so that you can identify the North and South poles of the magnet.  Jishaku is just $35, and seems like a ton of fun to me.
