The Sifteo Cubes bring you an entirely new way to game – or to learn.  Or to do both at the same time.  *Mind is blown*  These little gadgets can sense their proximity in regards to one another, are touchscreen, and have great accelerometers.  When you buy the cubes for $149, a pretty high price, you get 500 points with which you can buy games.  The three cubes that are in the starter pack come with a software, since they are completely useless without a computer with the included dongle inserted into it.  The computer controls everything – what game you play, the sound, and all of the options.  There are tons of applications to choose from – a lot of them you need to pay for, just a few dollars, but I’ve heard that there are decent free apps also.

The Sifteo Cubes are a rather expensive gift, but they’re perfect for kids in first or second grade – many of the games available for these cubes have to do with spelling, writing, math, and more, though there are also games that are for FUN ONLY.  Just like my treehouse is for BOYS ONLY.  Since most of the girls apparently can’t read, we enforce this rule with a good bucket of cold water balloons.  Also, Cheez Whiz in case we get hungry.  *Sprays it into mouth*
