Steve Jobs passed away earlier this evening at 56 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.  Here it is straight from Apple’s website after the jump -

 

 

 

My condolences to the family, and to those who were close to Steve.  I think I speak for everyone in the technology and blogging community when I say that we’ll miss Steve Jobs.  We’ll miss his keynotes, his iconic black turtleneck sweater, and his enthusiasm for the company that he ran.  We’ll miss him as a man, who laughed and loved with the rest of us, and we’ll miss him as a visionary designer, who gave us the iPod, iPhone, iMac, and more.
