NoiseHush Nx80 Earbuds Review: So You Don’t Have To Shush Your Family

NOTE: The NoiseHush Nx80 Earbuds were sent to me for review by Wireless Ground, but I am not biased.  Only the gift of cupcakes can make me biased, and no batter was given or taken.

So, you need a pair of noise-canceling earbuds, but won’t shell out the incredible amounts of cash that companies want you to.  (Ahem.  Monster.)  I have good news for you – the NoiseHush Nx80 Earbuds feature an inline microphone that filters out external noise, so you can relax and listen to your smooth jazz in peace.  Alternately, you can head bang to your screamo or fist pump to your Kanye West without having to listen to your obnoxious family members.  Of course, it’s rude to shush people, so we at Cool Gizmo Toys just recommend that you ignore them by getting a slick pair of the NoiseHush Nx80 earbuds.

Please note that I actually did try out these headphones, and that I didn’t include any of my own pictures because, frankly, my pictures were subpar.

The NoiseHush Nx80 Earbuds did cancel noise pretty well – I could hear my friends if they were talking loud enough, so the system isn’t perfect, but it’s much better than no noise cancellation, and you’re only paying $30.  Plus, these buds can pump out extremely loud sound – louder than you’ll ever need to have them.  If you were to put your iPod on full volume and plug in the earbuds, the music would be pretty loud – loud enough to play for a couple people within a five or ten foot radius.

The Nx80 earbuds have a button built-in to the cable, but, sadly, it doesn’t have the ability to change the volume.  (This is the one thing that disappointed me.)  The button does allow you to skip a song, pause and play music, fast forward, rewind, and go back to a previous song.  (One click is pause, two clicks is skip to the next song, two clicks and hold is fast forward, etc.)

The earbuds come with an instruction manual, a suede carrying bag, and different bud sizes for the variety of ears that it may be stuck into.  (I opted for the larger rubber pieces, because, apparently, I have large ears.)

The claim of having a tangle-free cable made me skeptical, but I have been made a believer.  I’ve shoved the Nx80 earbuds into pockets, drawers, mouths (ew), and dark holes, and they have never been terribly tangled.  Basically, the wires are more stiff and flat, like a flat noodle opposed to a spaghetti noodle.

These NoiseHush earphones provide good sound quality.  Not as good as my Beats headphones, of course, but it’s not tinny and the bass is (potentially) brain-vibrating.  The only real complaints that I have is that you can’t change the volume using the built-in button, and that I can’t seem to keep them in my ears.  I’m assuming that my ears are just weird, since I also have trouble with the generic iPod earbuds and Skull Candy earbuds.  (Curse you, Dumbo ears, and your oddly shaped canals!)

Overall, these are a great pair of earbuds, and I would definitely recommend them over some of their more expensive counterparts.
