If someone were to ask you what the most downloaded iOS app (being the operating program for iPad, iPod Touch, Apple TV and iPhone) might be, well, you don’t need to be an app guru to know the answer would be Facebook. Pandora runs a distant second. However what surprised me was the third most downloaded app – Google mobile App! – Not great news for Apple!!

Here’s the list of the hottest free apps that are being downloaded at break-neck speeds and approaching a whopping 12 billion downloads collectively!

I’ll bet you can’t find even one coherent person in the world that hasn’t heard about Facebook. Starting out more than a decade ago and strictly for college students, now, Facebook is arguably the biggest household name in the world and boasting more members than the combined memberships of other leading social networks such as MySpace, Bebo and Friendster.

Much like Facebook represents the very definition of social networking, the same goes for Pandora Radio but in terms of streaming Internet radio.
