Top 3 Facebook Phones for Sharing Awesomeness
People waste their lives on Facebook and have a great time doing it. Look! I just bought a pound of oranges! I had better tell all of my friends, and that forty-year-old guy from Arizona, that I got a great deal! Now, there are three amazing Facebook phones that can help you network with your friends and get preyed upon on the go! (Note: the devices in this post are real Facebook phones and not doctored images/rumors.) The three products that can make you the biggest Facebook buff in your virtual community are the HTC Status, formerly known as the Chacha, the HTC Salsa, and the INQ Cloud Touch.
Facebook Phones – HTC Status
The HTC status is definitely one of the coolest Facebook phones available exclusively for the United States of America. I’m sorry, did you just say that this phone was available in the United States of America? I think that you meant to say, “Why does HTC hate North America and always give us our tech goodies late?” You know what? I’m packing up my stuff right now. UK, here I come! It’s just like the U.S. except people are not as lazy, there’s better fish and chips, and all everyone has British accents!
Different Style Choice
Don’t get yourself too worked up, imaginary reader that exists only inside of my head. The HTC Status is actually only available in the U.S. and should be hitting local AT&T stores in the next week! (People in the U.K., don’t complain – you get every other phone that we don’t. Take the 02 Cocoon, for instance.) The HTC Status, which was renamed after legal disputes with the search company, Chacha, is one of the coolest Facebook phones that has been developed to date. This device strays from the typical full touchscreen approach and instead goes for a Blackberry-esqe look with a tangible QWERTY keyboard and 2.6 inch screen.
One-Touch Facebook Button
Of these three Facebook phones, the HTC Status is my favorite because it incorporates the One-Touch Facebook access and runs Gingerbread, which is Android 2.3.3. The One-Touch capability comes from the custom Facebook button that you see on the bottom right hand corner of the phone. This feature allows you to put anything you happen to stumble upon straight onto your Facebook page with a single click! Also, the HTC Status has Facebook optimized apps, such as the calendar app and camera widget. The calendar app shows Facebook events, there is a specific application for Facebook Chat, and you can easily upload pictures to Facebook via the camera widget. The HTC Status also has a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera and a VGA front-facing camera, which can be used for video chatting and whatnot. Finally, the HTC Status has the capability to store 32GB’s of data with a MicroSD card, which can be purchased for a relatively inexpensive price.
Facebook Phones – HTC Salsa
The HTC Salsa is another optimal choice for anyone looking to buy one of these Facebook phones. This smartphone, like the HTC Status, has an 800 MHz processor and runs on Android. The HTC Salsa also has a One-Touch Facebook button, like the Status, but the is in a stereotypical “modern smartphone with a large screen” style. This cool phone boasts a 3.4 inch screen and the capability to hold 32GB’s of information through the use of a microSD card. What ever happened to companies valuing internal storage? Apple is the only major smartphone developer that has the guts to have huge GB’s of internal memory. All of the other developers just rip you off and force you to buy a microSD unless your entire library of songs consists of only “William Hung: The Greatest Hits of All Time.” She bangs! She bangs!
More of What The Status Provides
With the HTC Salsa, you can instantly Facebook chat with your friends on the go with HTC’s integrated app. To be honest, this phone is extremely similar to the HTC Status in all aspects except design. They have the same processor, same Facebook button capabilities, and the same integrated apps. HTC just wanted to reach a wider market by making available two different choices of Facebook phones.
Facebook Phones – INQ Cloud Touch
The INQ Cloud Touch is another great Facebook-optimized mobile phone. What makes me favor the Salsa and Status over this phone is the One-Touch capability. While the INQ Cloud Touch does have some cool integrated Facebook features, which we will discuss later, it lacks this simple click and share component.
Integrated Apps
The INQ Cloud Touch, similar to the two previous smartphones discussed above, has an integrated calendar application, which was developed by Google. By the way, I am not going to post on Google+ unless I have invites to give out to my readers. There are already way too many posts on this new social media buzz, and I have no desire to promote Google’s new system until they let me into it. (I feel excluded, and I’m going to be a child about it and ignore them, even though their exclusion is (supposedly) because of technical overload.)
Notification Streaming
Facebook phones should all be sold in America, because we will be lazy and play on it for hours at a time. This specific device has not come out in the United States yet, but will hopefully show up in the coming months. On the INQ Cloud Touch’s home screen, you can see all of your notification and status updates without going into a specific section or application. You can chat with your Facebook friends straight from the Cloud Touch, and this phone is available in a stunning red and a flashing white. (Yes, the white version will keep its clothes on. Get your minds out of the gutter, you little baboons.)
