Samsung Infuse 4G Review – That There Thing Is Skinny
If smartphones could be hungry, the Samsung Infuse 4G would be starving. Why? You might be able to hide it behind a toothpick! (Okay, it’s not that revolutionary, but it’s only 9mm wide.) This phone boasts a 4.5 inch AMOLED screen, which is the largest smartphone screen to date, and has a sleek design. Did I mention how thin it was?
Samsung Infuse 4G
The Samsung Infuse 4G is available in a smooth black, but doesn’t allow for any other color choices. This is fine by me – I’ll just buy some extremely flashy case that lights up and plays Christmas music. (If there is not one of those for sale, it should be put into production immediately.)
Battery Life and Suing People
The battery life on the Samsung Infuse 4G isn’t too shabby either – it will give users over 400 hours of standby time and 8 hours of talk time. This should be plenty, considering the fact that I don’t know anybody who talks on their phone for more than 8 hours before getting an opportunity to recharge. My personal record for wasting time on the phone is a little over 20 minutes, trying to convince a telemarketer I would sue their pants off if they kept calling me. (E-mailing is a different story in terms of time wasting – I’m a blogger. Bloggers live off of e-mails.)
Cameras and Carrying Other Peoples’ Junk
Additionally, the Samsung Infuse 4G has an 8 megapixel camera complete with LED flash and focus assister. There are two cameras on the Infuse: a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera and an 8 megapixel back-facing camera. The 8 mp camera shoots 720p video, the same quality as the HTC EVO View tablet. Also, the Samsung Infuse provides 32 GB of internal storage for you to place all of your junk. (Apps, photos, music, etc. It’s all junk that your phone has to carry around. How would you like to carry a giant sack of data all day?) This phone is fairly new, it came out May of this year, so get one while they’re still hot. Unfortunately, you’ll need to give up some big cash, if you don’t have a contract, for the Samsung Infuse 4G, but it will all be worth the money when you have an awesome smartphone to use when calling to declare bankruptcy.
Samsung Infuse 4G Pros:
- Man, this thing is skinny!
- 4G is better than 3G, right?
- 4.5 inch AMOLED is huge and bright
- 32 GB’s isn’t too shabby
Samsung Infuse 4G Cons:
- I don’t like AT&T for reasons I will not disclose. Just kidding, I’ll tell … Their network coverage in my village leaves a lot to be desired.
- Runs on older version of Android, not Gingerbread
UPDATE September 23, 2011: A leaked Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread build has made its way online for the Samsung Infuse 4G and Galaxy S 4G on AT&T and T-Mobile respectively. When a build this good leaks online, it’s not usually too long afterwards until something official is made available. Via: EverythingAndroid
