Do you remember those old time View-Masters?  The ones where you click the button, a reel moves, and a new picture comes on screen?  Well, today’s generation has decided that those are boring, and that for something to be awesome it needs to incorporate an Apple product.  Well, Hasbro has taken the opinions of these snotty little brats and devised a brilliant invention – the best thing since Frankenstein.  Hasbro My3D is a cool device that turns any iPhone or iPod touch into a 3D View-Master!  They’ve also added some other perks to the Hasbro My3D, which will be discussed later, that the famed View-Master lacked.

Hasbro My3D – Useless Without Apple

 

 

 

The Hasbro My3D device is nothing without an iPhone or an iPod touch, so if you lack Apple goodness, do not bother buying this product.  It will just make you look like a dork and have no functional value whatsoever.  If you happen to be a hardcore Apple guy, like me, keep reading.  To use the Hasbro My3D, you’ll need to purchase one of seven applications.  (By purchase, I mean download for free.)  Your choices are Sector 17, Teleport LA, 360 Degree Sharks, Bubble Bolt, and Tunnel Pilot.  Each of these applications helps you enjoy the full awesomeness of the Hasbro My3D.  Later I will provide an explanation of each of these iPhone applications.  Hold your horses, colonel!  It’s time we engaged in a battle of wits with the formidable Hasbro My3D!  Get the coconuts and commence the making of the horse sounds.

Hasbro My3D – Design and Use

 

 

 

 

The mask portion of the Hasbro My3D, where you place your face, is a soft rubber which is relatively comfortable.  In order to get your Hasbro My3D working, you need to pull a latch and open the back of the product as shown in the picture above above above.  (The third one up.)  Proceed to insert your iPhone and re-engage the latch.  Also, Hasbro My3D has holes on the sides near the iPhone or iPod so that you can still touch the screen with your thumbs.  This design allows for the Hasbro My3D to have a much wider range of product capabilities.  If it were strictly a 3D View-Master, it wouldn’t be as cool as it is.  In its current manifestation, the Hasbro My3D lets you play games, watch movie trailers and more.  This cool device comes in both a Blue/White combo and a Black/White combo.

Hasbro My3D – Sector 17 iPhone App

 

 

The Sector 17 app for the Hasbro My3D is one of the applications that utilizes the iPhone and iPod’s accelerometer to create a 360 degree world.  This Hasbro My3D application is a shooter set in space – you’re a gunner on a space ship and one of your home planet’s last defenses.  Alternately blow up and PWN enemies until you earn enough prestige to upgrade your weapons.  Use these newly upgraded weapons to again alternately PWN and blow up enemies until you progress through all 22 levels of the Sector 17 Hasbro My3D application.  Remember that you want to be in an open space when playing this game – you’ll be spinning around with a giant plastic Veiw-Master over your face.  You should also make sure that no one else is in the room, lest you look incredibly stupid.

Hasbro My3D – Shatterstorm iPhone App

 

 

The Shatterstorm iPhone app for the Hasbro My3D is another shooter game, but this time you’re more than just a gunner.  In this cool Hasbro My3D application, you’re a pilot who is defending the universe from evil drones.  There are 60 levels of intense action, and all of it is free.  (All of the Hasbro My3D apps are free.  At least for now.)

Hasbro My3D – 360 Degree Sharks iPhone App

 

 

This application uses the accelerometer to create a three dimensional underwater world.  This Hasbro My3D application allows you to pick a shark to control and one of six environments to travel in.  Search for special easter eggs such as shipwrecks and hunt for prey to fill up your digital belly.  GET IN MY BELLY!

Hasbro My3D – Bubble Bolt iPhone App

 

 

This Hasbro My3D application gives you the ability to play as one of three super exciting characters, (sarcasm implied.)  You can become a fish, starfish, or shark.  Though you have this option, it doesn’t matter because you are in a bubble the entire game.  The user needs to navigate through 22 levels of obstacles without dying.  Not an easy feat.

Hasbro My3D – Teleport L.A. iPhone App

 

 

This Hasbro My3D application is basically a panoramic set of three dimensional images of Los Angeles.  Not to exciting, but a reason for an old person to purchase a Hasbro My3D.  Or someone who just likes to look at pictures of Los Angeles.  Don’t expect this application to entertain children, because it won’t.  I recommend a 3DS or maybe a potato gun.

Hasbro My3D – Tunnel Pilot iPhone App

 

 

The Tunnel Pilot Hasbro My3D application allows you to choose from six different vehicles and twelve race courses.  In addition to being an extremely fun racing game, this Hasbro My3D iPhone app manages to incorporate weapons which can be added to your vehicle to increase its “awesomeness at creating fiery explosions” rating.  There are 12 other vehicles racing with you at the same time on land, water, and in the sky.
