Giant Stuffed Microbes – Perfect For Geeks

GIANTmicrobes are a geek’s dream come true.  Each of the giant stuffed microbes represents a different sickness or critter, but depicts the malady in a cute way.  (Who would have known Gonorrhea could be turned into a little cute character?)  These cute plush toys were all designed by Drew Oliver, who founded the GIANTmicrobes company.

Giant Stuffed Microbes – Originals

The original GIANTmicrobes are plush dolls that come in three different sizes: five to seven inches, $8.95, Petri Dish (3 mini microbes), $12.95, and fifteen to twenty inches, $29.95.  Each toy comes with an image of the real microbe and a snippet about the disease your microbe represents.  For example, the Sniffles character would show a picture of the Rhinovirus, and explain that this microbe causes the common cold.  The best thing about the original GIANTmicrobes is that there are over 90 of them!  I’m sure you could find a microbe you would learn to love – streptococcus perhaps?

Giant Stuffed Microbes – New Vinyl Figures

Just recently, Drew Oliver has turned the idea of a plush microbe into a new series of vinyl figures.  Each of these toys, which are $12.95, come with several things – the figure, a flip book, and an awesome sticker.  (I don’t know about you, but I would love to have a giant stuffed mircobes sticker.)  There are 8 of these Collectible Vinyl Figures from GIANTmicrobes available for sale, and all of your choices are shown in the picture above.

Giant Stuffed Microbes – New Merchandise

In addition to the geeky originals and vinyl figures, GIANTmicrobes is also offering a new microbe and geeky neck ties.  The new Giantmicrobe, pictured above, is a stem cell.  If it appears too plain for your tastes – that’s because stem cells can grow into whatever they want, and haven’t taken their final form.  (No, the stem cell Giantmicrobe does not turn into a different microbe over time.  That would be cool, though.)

The ties pictured above are $29.95, the same price as the largest original microbes, and feature the characters Sniffles, Smooch, and Noodle.  Sniffles is the common cold, Smooch is a kissing disease, and Noodle is a brain cell.  In my opinion, the giant stuffed microbes are way cooler than their counterpart ties.
