Is Apple Right To Sue? A Look At The Samsung Products Involved

I must preface this post by saying that I love Apple.  I buy Apple products, I like Apple products, I eat apples regularly, it’s all good.  You know what they say – spend your money at Apple once a day in order to keep Steve Jobs from ending the world indefinitely.  Wait… that doesn’t sound right… Oh yeah!  It’s spend your money at Apple once a day in order to – *gloved hand smothers mouth*  ”Do you want to go in the closet again, slanderer of the almighty Jobs?  Get the taser, Olaf.  We need to teach this one a lesson…”

Samsung Galaxy S Vs. Old Generation iPhone

Apple, I can definitely see where you’re coming from on this one – I think you’re right to kick Samsung’s legal manifestation of a gluteus maximus.  (Curse those overseeing content prohibitors and their scientific replacements.)  Look at the icons shown on the bottom portion of the Galaxy S’s screen – that was definitely a copy of intellectual property.  Additionally, notice the small white dots at the top of the Galaxy S’s screen, which are used for page navigation.  Now, inspect the small white dots on the upper portion of the iPhone’s screen.  That looks like a good reason to sue somebody from where I’m standing sitting.  (I’m from America – the only time we stand is in the funnel cake theme park lines.)

Samsung Nexus S Vs. Apple iPhone

I hate to say it Apple, but I don’t see a major resemblance here.  I’d love to see the court hearing for the Nexus S dispute…

Judge: What did they steal from you, Apple?

Apple Rep: Well, their phone is rectangular, and ours is rectangular.  Their phone has a touch screen, ours has a touch screen.  The Nexus S has a camera, and the iPhone has a camera.

Judge: I see… Well.. Throw in an iPhone and you’ve got the suit in a bag.

Samsung Rep: *Quiet sobbing*

Samsung Epic 4G Vs. Apple iPhone

Again, like the Galaxy S, the Epic 4G has basically the same icon setup as the iPhone.  Also, we again notice the small white dot which was taken from Apple’s vault of intellectual property.  I can see what Apple is trying to say here, but it is not as clear cut of an issue as the Galaxy S, which is clearly ripped off of the iPhone.  But, then again, as one of the comments I saw online says, “What do they want Samsung to do?  Make oval-shaped phones?”  My sentiments exactly.
