Sony Nextep Concept Computer – Bendable Wearable Futuristic Fun
Bendable OLED’s For Concept Computer Are Great Fun
The Sony Nextep Concept Computer, created by Hiromi Kiriki, is a computer that you wear on your wrist! The entire device is made of a flexible OLED screen which allows you to bend it to fit your wrist like a bracelet. There are also two pull-out keyboards so typing is easier. Hiromi Kiriki believes that this product will be able to hit the markets in 2020, but we’ll see.
One of the things that I can see becoming a problem is the keyboard aspect. Yes, it is cool that there are two pull-out keyboards, no, I do not think it would be easy to type with them.
Two Little Troublemakers: Qwer And Ty
The design incorporates a “holographic projector” which also serves as a sort of hinge – it connects the two bendable OLED displays (which are both touch screen, by the way.) Because of this, the two keyboards are separated by what looks like maybe a little bit more than an inch. Imagine taking your keyboard, cutting it in half and putting the two parts an inch away from each other, and then trying to type with it. Maybe I’m wrong, but I feel that this is a skill which many consumers may not be willing to learn.
