The Otamatone is not only cute, it is a great instrument!  Made by Brookstone, the Otamatone Electronic Instrument resembles a musical note and sounds beautiful!  The Otamtone from Japan, the Maywa Denki version, costs around $50, but now that Brookstone is making one, the price is a mere $20.

How Do You Play an Otamatone?

The Otamatone is a great gift for anyone who loves music.  Just tap or slide your finger along its body and squeeze its mouth open at the same time to create music!  Squeeze the face of the instrument to turn your Otamatone into a Wah-Wah machine!

Do you prefer really low-sounding instruments?  No problem!  There are three octave settings and two different volume settings so that you can play however you want!  The Otamatone runs on 3-AAA batteries.

P.S.  If you want other colors, you have to buy the more expensive model made in Japan, but available on eBay for around $30.
