LED Cell Phone is a Touch Screen Alternative

Screens.  Easy to scratch, hard to clean.  Fingerprints get all over them when your friend, who just ate onion rings, decides he needs to send a really long text message.  People are forced to buy those little plastic sticky cover pieces that just fall off (also known as LCD Screen Protectors).  Screens are really overrated.  This is probably what Tao Ma was thinking when he came up with the LED Cell Phone concept.

Pressure Sensitive Surfaces

The LED Concept Cell Phone has an array of pressure sensitive surfaces.  It allows you to play basic games, such as Pac Man, on it, although I don’t feel like that would be much fun.  The device also runs on two AAA batteries, which seems ridiculously low tech to me.  This is a very basic cell phone, nothing to be excited about if you’re looking for a smartphone.

Cheap Cell Phone

The reason Tao Ma’s concept is receiving any hype is because it is one of the few concept phones that is very workable and cheap.  If this phone were to be manufactured for sale, people would be able to buy it for, most likely, around $30.  Now that’s a phone for thrifty people!
