You’ve heard of the solar powered flip flap plant by Tomy. But you have probably never heard of a funbot called the . . . the Flip Flap Rippletone!

SOLAR POWERED FLIP FLAP PLANT

This is similar to the original flip flap plant in that it is a solar powered plant.  There isn’t a ton of information on this product, at least not in English, but I will try.  Like all solar powered plants, this beauty is for people who don’t have the ability to grow real plants.  No green thumb?  No problem!

HOW FLIP FLAP “BLOOMS”

The Flip Flap Rippletone is a bud shaped plant, and when it is exposed to light, it “blooms.”  This is the word that all of my sources have used to describe the action of whatever this thing does.  I can’t find any videos or .gifs though.  So the solar powered gizmo “blooms” after being in the light for a certian period of time.  I don’t know about you, but this is sounding pretty lame to me so far.  Especially since this is going to be around 20 dollars!

Secondly, the Flip Flap Rippletone lights up in the dark.  I believe that it is partially glow in the dark and it has a coupl’a LEDs.  At least, that’s what I’ve concluded from everything that I’ve read. It would be a great help if one of you, who can read Japanese, finds more about this funbot for me.
